Description: This Vintage 70s 80s East German Army DDR NVA M56 M56/76 Combat Helmet is in excellent, clean condition overall and only shows light traces of age, handling and storage. The steel helmet shell is stamped as expected, appearing to be a "Size 2" produced in the fourth month of a year that cannot be clearly read. It looks like "77" but the paint has made it difficult to read correctly. The original factory painted finish is clean however a few mild scuffs are present, they do not detract from display. The liner is also in excellent condition with no obvious signs of abuse or neglect present. All leather is soft and supple, appearing to show no evidence of wear or service. Of note, the chinstrap is ink stamped "MADE IN EAST GERMANY" and is evidence of importation most likely after 1989. The plastic suspension and foam inserts are also clean and function exactly as you would expect. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of contents and condition.
