It depicts a single small bird among some plant life and is signed by the artist in the lower right corner (see photo). Its age is unknown. It comes with its original matting and frame. From our research, it appears that Elson only created a few paintings with birds as the subjects. The metal over wood frame measures about 9" x 11". It is in good, original condition. The frame and glass do have some scratches, not visible in the photos. There is a small dent on the top edge of the frame.
