Description: Incredibly beautiful hand painted chinoiserie kimono silk. Gorgeous indienne and almost French country inspired in it's visual elements. Gorgeous hues of primarily red, pinks, reds, eggplant purple, yellow gold, turquoise & blue on a soft cream/off white ground. The gold is not metallic or shiny. Richer and somewhat deeper than my camera captured, magnificent in person.The silk feels exquisite. It can be quite elegant or have a bit of a bohemian nuance depending on how it's used & embellished. This is a very long slender panel. It will begin with a sold off white colored plain silk and then encompass the pattern seen in photo 1 and photo 2, then ends with a long portion of the plain silk again. The entire panel measures 15" wide by aprox 176" long~ the floral area will be about 76" of the overall design, the remainder will be the plain silk which is also quite elegant, very supple. It is in overall very good clean condition albeit an area at the very bottom which has aging/a couple of stains and a bit of aging/scuff to the very outer edges which does not interfere with the gorgeous hand painted areas. It retains it's original tag and stamping. An incredible pieces which simply displays beautifully in and of itself though would make an abundance of incredibly unique projects. Smitten with this, so elegant and yet so folksy & playful. Many thanks I sell antique and vintage fabric. Each textile is different; some possibly used, some unused. I will give you my best assessment. I do not always launder them nor do I know all their history, how they have been stored over time etc.. I have a 30+ year long & extensive knowledge of textiles and gauge age ranges; fiber content etc.. to the best of my ability.
