Description: Vintage KUTANI IMARI SLEEPING CAT 5.75" Wide Lucky This is a very early Vintage, medium-size, lucky Kutani sleeping cat that is 5.75” wide. Donning an orange bow, it is hand decorated in the ‘IMARI’ style in beautiful colors of dark cobalt blue, deep red-orange, orange, ochre, and white, and with outlined features in black, and gold/gilt accents. The three symbols on the bottom translate to ‘IMARI,’ and there are no other marks on this very early piece. Dimensions: 5.75” W x 3.75” D x 2.375” H This wonderful, vintage Kutani sleeping cat has age-related crazing; there is a tiny kiln flaw on the bottom on the edge of the firing hole, and a 1.5” thin hairline as well, both of which are stable, otherwise this Vintage Kutani ‘IMARI’ is in excellent condition. These minimal flaws do not detract from the overall display value, and contribute to authenticate the considerable age of this piece.
