Vintage Medieval Folding Wooden Chess Board Set 15” x 15” w/Resin 3.5" King

Description: This is a very nice high quality chess set. I am not one hundred percent sure whether this is resin or plastic, but I believe it is resin. The pieces are felted, have a great hand feel, and I believe are nicely weighted. I'm not sure who made this, but if I had to guess it would likely be E.S. Lowe, mid century. The king is just over 3.5 " and the pawns are 2.4". When I received this set, the case was slightly separating at two corners but not falling apart. I carefully repaired the set using strong glue and it now feels sturdy. That said, the crack /separation can be seen. The pieces fit nicely into a green foam storage compartment within the case. The case has a magnetic lock that keeps it from falling open while still being easy to open. The interior used to have a very slight musty smell, so I let it air out and febreezed it. Now the interior has a very slight febreeze smell, but nothing offensive - it's very slight and I only mention it because I try to capture every detail. The pieces are felted, though a few are starting to come loose and probably could use a dab of glue to reattach. Overall, despite its condition issues, I believe you will be very happy with this set. The pieces look and feel great and the minor issues give this set a nice vintage feel. Be sure to check out my other items.
