Description: Offering a rare vintage set of 2 lounge chairs by Ficks Reed. This style has been referred to as the "1949er" rattan living-room set. They feature decorative X arms and X base on the lounge chairs. Comfortable, strong, sturdy and just reupholstered with new foam inserts and soft Sunbrella fabric in a natural white called “Snow”. All cushions are zippered for easy cleaning! Dimensions: Chair: 33"height x 26"width x 32"depth In excellent vintage condition! However, due to age there are a few things I modified. These pieces were crafted from a simple style but using very high quality rattan materials and techniques. The bindings are actually all original, intact and still super strong after all these years! I have had new foam cushions with Sunbrella upholstery created professionally. The bottom of the chairs have the original springs and have been recovered with canvas. I have throughly inspected and cleaned this set, reviving the natural colors with a very light coat of boiled linseed oil. Some of the original finish (shellac?) has slightly worn off in uneven ways, mostly on the tops of the arms. This doesn’t take away from the beauty of this rare set, but wanted to mention because it’s hard to notice in the photos. Enjoy as is!
