Description: - Vintage Shawnee Pottery "Jack Tar" Sailor Boy Cookie Jar This is the iconic "Jack Tar" Sailor Boy cookie jar made by Shawnee Pottery. The boy is dressed in a white sailor suit with navy scarf and tie. The rest of the cookie jar is white except for the cold paint on the eyes and a little bit left on the mouth. He holds a cookie behind his back. He is marked with an imprint of "USA" on the bottom. Very nice condition for age. Some of the cold paint has peeled off. There is a chip on the underside edge of the head portion. It does not show when the head is on. No other chips or cracks. I noticed that the head does not fully seal on the back at the bottom of the sailor collar. This is how I found the cookie jar. Smoke-free home. Selling "As Is" as described.
