Description: Three Rivers is a city in St. Joseph County in southwestern Michigan with a population 7,811 in 2010. It derives its name from its location at the confluence of the St. Joseph River and two tributaries, the Rocky and Portage rivers. The St Joseph River flows into Lake Michigan. Three Rivers is located approximately 20 miles south of Kalamazoo and 35 miles west of Coldwater. It was founded by settlers who used the three rivers to transport goods. With the confluence of the three rivers, Three Rivers made an ideal trading location. The city retains its historical look and much of the downtown area is listed on the "National Historical Register", complete with its turn-of-century buildings and the Sillman House. Home to one of the few remaining Carnegie Library buildings, now the "Carnegie Center for the Arts", This uncredited card chronicles "Main St. N from Bennett" and is in good condition with minor wear on the corners and edges. The image is of a park that must run alongside Main St. and is clean and clear as is the reverse. The colors on the images are a more neutral B&W than the scan.Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible. Corrections appreciated.
