Description: For your consideration is a vintage gravity cream separator metal milk can with cream gauge marked Pat Jan 1 1884. A patent date search showed it was patented by a CL Colby. Here’s the patent link: https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/13/be/2f/79ba13f285e5b8/US291296.pdf Height without the lid is approximately 20 inches. Diameter is 8 1/2 inches. That approximates a volume of about 4.5 to 5 gallon. This can developed an nice uniform rust patina over the last 140 years or so. The glass window on the gauge is cracked but still mostly there. It appears to be original aside from two small bolts that were added to hold on the one handle bracket (as shown in the photos). It appears that it was originally tin-lined and that most of the lining is gone. This is a nice looking vintage item that you are purchasing as-is and as-pictured. Thank you for your interest.
