Description: Today I am offering this fabulous vintage and super rare doll from the Marin Chiclana collection. This little beauty was made in Cadiz, Spain. I'm not sure what the date of manufacturing is but my best guess is probably circa late 1960s to early 1970s. These Marin Chiclana dolls are widely available and highly collectible. The exception is that almost all the other dolls are images of adult bailaores or flamenco dancers. This gal is a baby doll style in a beautiful blue lace-trimmed Spanish dancing dress with white cord fringe around the bodice. She has little black shiny shoes, a "pearl" necklace, a white peineta mantilla comb and orange and pink fabric flowers in her hair. Her light brown hair is done in an elaborate updo. It looks and feels like real human hair but it has not degraded over the years so it must be synthetic. Her face is sweet and plump. She has bright blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and subtle makeup. I'm not sure what she is made of: vinyl, plastic, rubber, some kind of combination or other composition? She is approximately 6" high. I do not see any damage to the doll, her clothes, or accessories. She is still firmly attached to the interior cardboard sleeve packaging. The box is intact but has some damage from decades of storage. Overall the packaging is clean and presentable for display. Please review all the pictures and zoom in for close-ups as they are an integral part of the description. USPS shipping rates are for the lower 48 US states only. Here's some additional information about this company: The Marn Dolls Museum-Factory is located in Chiclana de la Frontera, in the province of Cdiz, Andalusia, southwestern Spain. The doll museum is located next to the doll factory. The factory was established in 1928 by the artist Jos Marn Verdugo (1903-1984). By the mid 20th century, the dolls were sold not only in Spain, but also in other European countries. In 1976, the Spanish government granted the Medal of Merit of Labor to the Chiclana Jos Marn Verdugo factory. It is currently run by Ana Marn, daughter of the founder.
