APPROX MEASUREMENTS 18.5 x 20" total measurements 5.5 x 8" print 9.5 x 7.5" mirror DESCRIPTION This is possibly an antique print. The Season of Blossoms Artist: Currier & Ives (American, active 18341907) After: Frances Flora Bond Palmer (American, 18121876) This only has the title and CURRIER & IVES printed in left corner. Which does fit the criteria for age. How to age your Currier&Ives print:- #1) Most prints have yellowed or browned with time, but time toning may be uneven, different on front and back, and perhaps at the edges, where the frame lip covered the print edges. THIS ONE IS DEFINITELY YELLOWED. #2) Except for a very small handful of later prints produced by an early form of chromo-lithography or collotype printing, originals prints were lithographed in black ink, then hand-colored with watercolors. THIS ONE DEFINITELY HAS HANDPAINTED WATERCOLORS ON B&W PRINT. #3) On a Currier & Ives original you will generally find: A title One or more lines identifying the publisher("N. Currier" or "Currier & Ives") Occasionally, a New York street address (which changed several times over the life of the firm) Sometimes, an old-style copyright notice("entered according to Act of Congress" and a date). THIS ONE HAS THE FIRST TWO IDENTIFIERS CONDITION Mirror is in great condition. Frame has one cracked corner and some surface wear. Print is yellowed with age. Back is very good.
