WICHMANN "EW" - CASED This is an extremely fine First World War Prussian 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class that is in excellent condition. The magnetic, stove black iron core is with high relief and flawless black finish. The silver frame is without separation and with a beautifully age toned patina. The jumper ring for the ribbon is incised with ‘EW' indicating manufacture by E. WICHMANN. The cross is housed in a black oak easel frame that measures 3x4 inches. The underside of the lid is fitted with a pale beige pad and the bed upon which the cross rests is of plush beige velvet and recessed to hold the cross. Included in the case is a piece of original ribbon. A truly beautiful looking cross in an equally beautiful case. The case is missing its easel arm. Please see all pictures.
